WE ARE NOT AN ORDINARY FARM.

Originally from Colombia, Cristina and Jaime Ramirez have lived in Canada for over 30 years. They became accustom to buying their food from farmers’ markets and eating foods that have not been treated or modified in any way. But they noticed that much of the greens available weren’t grown that way. So, with the help of their son Santiago, they began the journey of growing their own nutrient packed greens, that could be consumed by both young and old - in simple ways!

INDOOR VERTICAL FARMING METHODS

To maximize space and grow the highest quality microgreens, Forest City Microgreens uses vertical farming techniques inside of an environmentally controlled commercial space in downtown London, Ontario.

Instead of growing wide, we grow tall. By stacking our microgreens towards the ceiling, our system can grow up to 10x the amount that a traditional farm could grow in the same square footage.

ENVIRONMENTALLY COMMITTED

Though we grow indoors away from the outside environment, environmental sustainability is very important to us!

Forest City Microgreens uses up to 95% less water than your traditional farm outside in a field. Our watering systems are on a recirculating closed loop so we lose little to no water from evaporation and drainage.

In an effort to keep our greens, customers and environment healthy, we never use any pesticides, preservatives or harsh chemicals at any point during the growing process.

No wasted water and no chemicals leaching into the ground. Just fresh, safe and pure greens from our farm to your fridge.
